Maryam
Maryam Sohrabi is a Provisional Psychologist with Southern Psychologists who is passionate about supporting individuals to enhance their mental health, wellbeing, and quality of life. She is committed to providing evidence-based, client-centred care in a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment.
Maryam holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology (General). Her postgraduate research explored the application of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) in addressing issues related to meaning in life and relationship difficulties, reflecting her strong interest in helping individuals build fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Maryam has experience working with children and families, including supporting individuals with developmental differences and those accessing services through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). She also has a strong interest in working with couples to strengthen communication, navigate relationship challenges, and foster healthier connections.
Maryam has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing:
• Anxiety and stress-related difficulties
• Trauma and adverse life experiences
• Migration and acculturation-related challenges
• Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Emotional regulation difficulties
• Relationship and interpersonal concerns
Maryam adopts a warm, compassionate, and neuro-affirming approach, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. She works collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful and lasting change.
