Fiona Chappell

Fiona is the Director of Southern Psychologists. She was previously a school teacher, teaching students from Kindergarten to Year 10. She has worked therapeutically with a diverse range of presentations, cultures and ages across the lifespan utilising various therapeutic interventions.

Fiona is passionate about improving clients positive mindset to assist them to live a meaningful life and personal growth. She has experience in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, anger management, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, trauma/post traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, addiction, interpersonal conflict (including relationships), attachment difficulties, emotion regulation, social skills, challenging behaviours, toileting, health related concerns, self esteem and gender diversity.

Fiona is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and completing her Masters in Clinical Psychology. She takes a holistic approach and uses a wide variety of therapeutic modalities, individually tailored for each client including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solutions Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy and Play Therapy.

The assessments she offers for both children and adults include: Psychoeducational (Cognitive and Educational assessing gifted, twice exceptional, intellectual disability, dyslexia, and dycalculia), Functional Capacity (For NDIS), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Fiona offers both Single and Dual Autism Assessments with a Speech Pathologist.

Fiona is empathetic and non-judgmental psychologist who is very passionate about psychology and empowering people to make positive changes in their lives.

Ngọc Anh Do

With a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Erasmus University in the Netherlands and currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Flinders University, Anh is a dedicated provisional psychologist with five years of experience working with both youth and adults.

Her professional background includes roles at the Vietnam-France Psychology Institute and International Mental Care in the Netherlands, where she developed expertise in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, schema therapy, mindfulness, DBT, and EMDR.

Anh is deeply passionate about making a meaningful impact and is committed to providing culturally sensitive care. Fluent in Vietnamese and English, Anh is devoted to offering compassionate support to individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. She has a strong focus on tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs, aiming to provide a personalised approach when supporting clients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, and personality disorders.

We offer optional therapy animals to increase engagement and decrease anxiety.

Introducing Bailey the gentle giant. Bailey enjoys being close to people and also enjoys going for walks along the Esplanade with clients.

Introducing Baxter who is a pocket rocket! Baxter is still a puppy and learning how to interact with clients. He enjoys cuddles, pats and treats. He also enjoys going for walks along the Esplanade with clients.
