Millie

Millie is a Provisional Psychologist completing her Master of Professional Psychology placement with Southern Psychologists. She works under the supervision of experienced psychologists and will be with the practice from August to November.

Millie is friendly, gentle, thoughtful, and accepting. She cares about truly connecting with people and understanding the whole person. She adapts her approach to each person, works at a pace that feels manageable, and helps them feel comfortable talking about difficult things.

Millie has worked in mental health for five years, supporting young people, adults, and families. Much of her work has involved supporting young people experiencing self-harm and suicidal distress, as well as their families. She has also worked alongside people living with anxiety and avoidance, low mood, repetitive thoughts and habits, and body image and eating worries, as well as neurodivergent people and people from multicultural and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Millie has been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) through Flinders University. CBT helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected, and develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.
